the AKC is an open registry too?

That is right, the AKC does requires the parents be recorded with them to pass on the AKC papers. Trust me this permits alot of fraud. Most breeders are not checked, there are not usually dna tested, there is no picture required, no health certification required (just record keeping that certifies the parents were registered (nothing else) If someone wanted to commit fraud it would be easy with the AKC, actually easier because the average person is not willing to sign on confirming picturers are authentic etc unless their part of the fraud. fraud is easily done with the AKC by connecting a parents AKC registration with a new puppie. Lets be honest the AKC is only a ancestry record by name only (for most registered AKC dogs not being showed (which is most of the AKC dogs) To tell an individual that simple because a dog is not AKC registered the dogs isn’t healthy, free of genetic problems, purebred and show quality would be a lie. lets push healthy animals not the health of the AKC

Yanno…
your singing the same song you did in the last post. Didn’t like the responces there?

Your starting to sound like a breeder who has had akc registration privlidges revoked………

or are you buying akc pups on limited and then taking them to a paper registry to be able to breed them and have ‘papers’? If you are be aware that most good breeders have contracts saying the dog will not be bred peroid not that they wont be bred and akc registered and you could be opening yourself to a lawsuit by breaking the non breeding clause.

At one time most breeders marked as limited, handed the papers out with the pup but more and more hold them until the dog is proven to be fixed by a vet and want a non breeding contract to avoid being taken to another registry.

As far as akc no they are not perfect.
The others are even less perfect.
Do the research on the breed and breeder to make sure they ARE health testing. WHO you buy from is your choice and in the end you should rely on your own investigation to verify health and testing and longevity and breeder ethics and breeder/kennel care because YOU have to live with this pup not the akc or anyone else. RELY on your own research dont expect everything to be done for you or pay someone to do it for you. Hire a PI to locate your next pup if you wont put the effort into it, they investigate for a living.

Saxophonist Trevor Watts has made no bones about his love for the South African expatriate musicians, especially Dudu Pukwana, who came to London during apartheid. In recent years, Watts has been playing the kwelas, high life and ritual dance music so much a part of the jazz styles of those players, especially the members of the Brotherhood of Breath, who mingled with many British improvisers. Hand percussionist Jamie Harris joins Watts for this recording of original jam tunes that reflects the traditional African and modern English way for making new music. While their range in timbre, pacing, and interplay is limited, the expression of joy they exude is rarely trivial. The difference is mainly measured in degrees of pace and energy as a slightly overblown soprano saxophone in the 6/8 ritualistic dance of “Alpino” and 4/4 of “Sarawak” with Watts on alto sets the tone. At their most creative, a stretched 10/8 time signature in extreme upper octave levels on “Three & More” and the circular sped up line of “Kerrytown” shows these two undoubtedly belong to the modern musicians sect. Vocals add to a swirling, frantic effect during “Tandem Voices,” while a more whirling dervish, Turkish or Arabian flavor has the woodwinds sounding overdubbed, but it’s actually a vocal accent on “Balintan.” Often you feel Harris is an accessory, or a second brought simply for support, as there is not much interplay or counterpoint involved. Then again, one might contend it’s all call and response as in most African music. Watts so thoroughly dominates this project, and though there’s a certain joy, exuberance, or in the case of “Anna B,” romanticism, he’s expressing his inner calling, with Harris along for the safari. While not a definitive recording, and assuredly for specialized tastes, what Watts and Harris have achieved is undeniably unique unto itself. ~ Michael G. Nastos, Rovi
